Topic: The lay of the land – Islands Of Adventure
In Episode 12, I covered the lay of the land for Universal Studios Florida. Analytics tells me this was the most popular episode to date. Today we are taking the same approach but we will take a virtual tour through Islands of Adventure instead. We will enter the gate, and work our way through the lands clockwise starting at Port of Entry.
Port of Entry

Port of Entry is the prologue to Islands of Adventure. Before guests’ step into lands filled with superheroes, dinosaurs, wizards, and mythical creatures, they enter a harbor built by explorers from around the world. Every building, artifact, and restaurant tells the story of a city where travelers gather, exchange stories, and prepare for their next great adventure. It’s not an island itself, but the crossroads that connects every adventure that follows.
Port of Entry, despite having no attractions has the most lore and back story of any theme park I have ever been. Easily can be an episode unto itself. While I understand the need to push through this land as you enter, I would strongly encourage you to spend some time looking around and listening to this incredibly thematic land.
Croissant Moon Bakery
The Croissant Moon Bakery is a quick-service bakery and café. It’s a popular stop for breakfast, snacks and light meals when first arriving at the park. It features, fresh pastries such as croissants, danishes, muffins, cookies, and cinnamon rolls. Breakfast sandwiches on croissants, including ham, egg & cheese and bacon. Also has lunch items like deli sandwiches, beef croissants, falafel pitas, fruit bowls, and chips. Lastly, desserts including cheesecake slices, tarts, cakes, cookies, and other bakery treats.

Confisco Grille
Confisco Grille is the primary full-service restaurant in the Port of Entry area of Universal’s Islands of Adventure. Its theme is that of an international customs house where adventurers from around the world have left behind both treasures and recipes, creating a dining experience inspired by global flavors.
The restaurant blends influences from Asian, Mediterranean, Greek, Latin American, and other international cuisines, making it one of the most diverse menus in the park. Rather than traditional theme park fare, you’ll find dishes like Pad Thai, churrasco steak, quesabirria, miso salmon, and sweet-and-sour sticky ribs alongside burgers and salads.
Inside, the décor is filled with “confiscated” artifacts collected from travelers and explorers. Fans of Islands of Adventure often enjoy spotting references to the park’s different lands hidden throughout the restaurant. There is a lot to see here if you have the time.
Backwater Bar
Connected to the restaurant is Backwater Bar, a full-service bar offering cocktails, beer, wine, and appetizers. Very small, but a fan favorite.
Starbucks & Cinnabon
There is also a Starbucks and Cinnabon located in Port of Entry, both places providing what you would expect from those brands.

The Last Chance Fruit Stand
The Last Chance Fruit Stand is unofficially the closest beer cart found in a theme park. I love going there and getting an oil can, one of those big o’l Fosters.
Port Provisions
Port Provisions is a convenient last-minute shopping location before exiting the park. It offers a selection of classic Universal merchandise and souvenirs.
Islands of Adventure Trading Company
Islands of Adventure Trading Company is the largest and most prominent retail location in the Port of Entry area, serving as the park’s central trading post where travelers can browse treasures, supplies, and souvenirs gathered from adventures across the islands.

All Hallow’s Eve Lost Emporium
With the closing of All Hallow’s Eve in the Lost Continent, Universal repurposed this space next to the Islands of Adventure Trading Co for its all year Halloween Horror Nights merchandise location.
DeFoto’s Expedition Photography
DeFoto’s Expedition Photography is where you can inquire or pickup your “my universal photo” items.
Stroller ECV and Wheelchair rentals (just to left after entrance sign says rentals)
You can also find rentals for strollers, ECVs and Wheelchairs just to the left after entering the turnstiles to the park.
Marvel Superhero Island
Universal awkwardly holds the exclusive rights to Marvel characters in theme parks in the United states, East of the Mississippi. So if you’re in Florida looking for Marvel, you won’t be visiting Walt Disney World.

Marvel Super Hero Island is a comic book world brought to life, where we can step directly into the pages of Marvel’s classic comics. Rather than focusing on a single storyline, the land creates the feeling that a massive battle between superheroes and supervillains is unfolding all around you. The architecture, colors, and oversized comic-book panels are designed to make visitors feel as though they’ve entered a living comic strip. Buildings feature exaggerated angles, bold colors, and comic-style sound effects, while the skyline is dominated by the twisting green track of The Incredible Hulk Coaster.
The Incredible Hulk Coaster

The Incredible Hulk Coaster is the signature attraction of the Marvel Super Hero Island section of Universal’s Islands of Adventure. The story places guests inside a high-tech Gamma Research facility where scientists are experimenting with the same gamma-energy technology that transformed Bruce Banner into the Hulk.
The Incredible Hulk Coaster is a high-intensity launched roller coaster. Instead of using a traditional chain lift, the ride features a powerful launch system that accelerates riders from 0 to 40 mph through an enclosed gamma-force accelerator tube before cresting a 110-foot hill. The coaster reaches speeds of up to 67 mph and sends guests through seven inversions, including loops, corkscrews, and zero-gravity maneuvers. Following a major rebuild in 2016, the attraction received new trains, a custom onboard soundtrack, upgraded track, and enhanced special effects, creating a smoother yet still intensely thrilling experience. Known for its distinctive green track that dominates the skyline of Marvel Super Hero Island, the Hulk remains one of Universal Orlando’s most recognizable and technologically impressive roller coasters.
Storm Force Accelatron
Storm Force Accelatron is a spinner ride in Marvel Super Hero Island inspired by the X-Men hero Storm. Guests board one of several storm-generator vehicles and join Storm in using her mutant weather-control powers to prevent Magneto from unleashing chaos. As the ride spins, riders can control the intensity of their vehicle’s rotation by turning a large center wheel, creating anything from a mild whirl to a fast-paced dizzying experience.
Doctor Doom’s Fearfall
Doctor Doom’s Fearfall is a towering launch ride that places guests directly into one of Doctor Doom’s evil schemes. According to the story, Doom has developed a machine that can capture and harness human fear, using it to gain enough power to defeat the Fantastic Four once and for all. Riders are recruited into his experiment and seated in launch vehicles attached to two 185-foot towers. Rather than a traditional drop ride, the attraction suddenly launches guests skyward at high speed before a series of smaller drops and bounces. The combination of the dramatic launch, the intimidating presence of Doctor Doom, and panoramic views of Islands of Adventure creates a unique thrill experience that makes guests feel as though they’re unwilling participants in Doom’s latest attempt at world domination.
The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man

The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man is a groundbreaking dark ride that puts guests in the role of rookie reporters for the Daily Bugle. After boarding the newspaper’s high-tech S.C.O.O.P. vehicles, riders are sent out to cover a breaking story involving Spider-Man and the Sinister Syndicate. What begins as a routine assignment quickly turns into a citywide chase as villains including Doctor Octopus, Electro, Hydro-Man, Hobgoblin, and Scream attempt to steal the Statue of Liberty. Throughout the adventure, Spider-Man swings into action to save both the city and the passengers, leading to a series of thrilling encounters enhanced by a combination of motion simulation, practical effects, and 3D media. Widely regarded as one of the most influential theme park attractions ever created, the ride immerses guests in a living comic book where they become part of the action alongside Marvel’s friendly neighborhood hero. We did cover a deep dive earlier this year in S01E02 of the podcast.
Meet the Marvel Super Heroes
Meet the Marvel Super Heroes is a character meet-and-greet experience gives guests the opportunity to come face-to-face with some of Marvel’s most iconic heroes. Rather than watching the action unfold from the sidelines, visitors can interact directly with legendary characters such as Spider-Man, Captain America, Wolverine, Storm, Rogue and Cyclops.
Café 4
Cafe 4 is one of two primary dining locations, themed as the employee cafeteria for the Baxter Building, headquarters of the Fantastic Four. The restaurant’s name comes from Marvel’s famous superhero team, and guests are invited to dine as if they’re visiting the workplace of Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm. The quick-service menu features pizzas, pasta, sandwiches, salads, and other family-friendly options, making it a popular stop for guests looking for a substantial meal.

Captain America Diner
Captain America Diner is the other quick service restaurant in the Marvel area themed around the patriotic spirit and heroism of Captain America. Designed to resemble an all-American roadside diner, the restaurant celebrates the legendary Avenger through comic-inspired décor, bold red, white, and blue colors, and imagery highlighting Captain America’s role as a symbol of courage and justice. The menu focuses on classic American favorites such as cheeseburgers, chicken fingers, sandwiches, fries, and other comfort foods.
Auntie Anne’s Pretzels
Additionally they do have the beloved Auntie Anne’s Pretzels spot.
Toon Lagoon

Toon Lagoon transports guests into a cartoon universe where the funny pages have escaped the newspaper and become a fully immersive environment filled with oversized props, comic sound effects, exaggerated architecture, and water-soaked adventures. Inspired by beloved characters such as Popeye, Blondie, Beetle Bailey, Dudley Do-Right, and others, Toon Lagoon embraces the playful energy and visual style of traditional Sunday comics.
Anyone younger than Generation X probably won’t have a lot in common with this land and its theming and we have heard rumors of change for years. Im sure it will eventually happen but I’ll believe it when I see it.
Classic Comic Strip Characters
The Classic Comic Strip Characters meet and greet gives guests the chance to step into the world of the Sunday funnies and meet some of the beloved characters that inspired the land. Depending on the day, visitors may encounter favorites such as Popeye, Olive Oyl, Betty Boop, Blondie, Beetle Bailey, or other iconic comic strip personalities who helped shape American newspaper comics for generations.
Me Ship, The Olive

Me Ship, The Olive is an interactive play themed to Popeye’s beloved ship from the classic comic strip and animated cartoons. Docked along the lagoon, the oversized vessel invites guests to explore multiple decks, climb through hidden passages, trigger water cannons, and discover a variety of playful comic-style interactive effects. The attraction serves as both a playground and a living comic-strip set piece that captures the lighthearted spirit and humor of the Popeye universe.
Popeye & Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges
Popeye & Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges is a white-water raft ride, placing guests in the middle of the never-ending feud between Popeye and his rival, Bluto. The story begins when Bluto kidnaps Olive Oyl, prompting Popeye to launch a rescue mission. Guests board circular barges and journey through a chaotic comic-strip world filled with twisting rapids, waterfalls, spinning currents, and water cannons as the battle unfolds around them. True to the over-the-top humor of the classic Popeye cartoons, the adventure becomes progressively more outrageous and wetter with every turn. Through colorful sets, cartoon gags, and nonstop splashes. They say you will get wet, I’m telling you, you will be soaked.
Dudley Do-Right’s Ripsaw Falls
Dudley Do-Right’s Ripsaw Falls is a log flume adventure based on the classic Rocky and Bullwinkle cartoons and the adventures of Canada’s famously earnest Mountie, Dudley Do-Right. The attraction follows Dudley’s ongoing mission to rescue his beloved Nell Fenwick from the villainous Snidely Whiplash, who has once again kidnapped her and tied her to a dangerous scheme. Guests travel through a series of humorous cartoon scenes filled with puns, sight gags, and exaggerated characters before climbing a towering lift hill and plunging down a dramatic 75-foot drop. Combining detailed storytelling, animatronics, dark ride scenes, and a thrilling finale, the attraction perfectly captures the charm and absurd humor of the original cartoons.
UOAP Lounge
The UOAP Lounge is an exclusive relaxation space available to Universal Orlando Annual Passholders. The lounge provides passholders with a comfortable place to cool off, recharge devices, relax in air conditioning, and enjoy special passholder perks. This is also where you can get AP specific merchandise and its where you will find any free perks that are often given to passholders. Monthly magnets is typically what is available there. You will have to have your AP scanned in order to enter.
Comic Strip Café
Comic Strip Café is the largest quick-service restaurant in Toon Lagoon, celebrating the classic newspaper comics that inspired the land. Designed as a colorful food court inside a giant comic-book world, the restaurant features themed dining areas inspired by beloved characters such as Blondie, Beetle Bailey, Dagwood, Cathy, and other familiar comic strip icons. The menu offers a variety of options, including burgers, sandwiches, chicken, pizza, salads, and international-inspired dishes.
Blondie’s

Blondie’s is a quick-service dining location inspired by the long-running Blondie comic strip and its famously sandwich-loving character, Dagwood Bumstead. Styled as if guests have stepped into Blondie and Dagwood’s neighborhood, the restaurant embraces the playful charm of the classic comic through colorful cartoon décor and references to Dagwood’s legendary towering sandwiches. The menu focuses primarily on deli-style sandwiches, hot dogs, and other quick meal options, making it a fitting tribute to one of comic history’s most food-obsessed characters.
This dining location isn’t always open, so be sure to check the mobil app before committing. Guilty pleasure of mine, the Dagwood is a really good sandwich when its open.
Wimpy’s
Wimpy’s is a quick-service food stand inspired by J. Wellington Wimpy, the hamburger-loving character from the classic Popeye comic strips and cartoons. Famous for his catchphrase, “I’d gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today,” Wimpy is the perfect mascot for a restaurant centered around burgers and classic American comfort food. The stand’s colorful cartoon styling and Popeye-themed atmosphere make it feel like a natural extension of the nearby Popeye attractions.
This is another location that is not always operating.
Skull Island: Reign of Kong

As a land, it’s a little unusual because the land itself is only the one attraction which oddly enough has the same name.
Skull Island: Reign of Kong
Skull Island: Reign of Kong is a massive immersive dark ride that transports guests deep into the mysterious and dangerous world of Skull Island. Set in the 1930s, visitors join the Eighth Wonder Expedition Company on a journey through an uncharted island filled with ancient ruins, hostile natives, and terrifying prehistoric creatures. What begins as a sightseeing expedition quickly turns into a desperate fight for survival as monstrous predators attack from all sides. Along the way, guests encounter the island’s most legendary resident, King Kong himself. As the battle between Kong and the island’s creatures escalates, riders find themselves caught in the middle of an epic struggle that showcases Kong as both a fearsome beast and the island’s reluctant protector. Through a combination of enormous practical sets, detailed theming, motion-based ride vehicles, and massive screen-based encounters, the attraction creates the feeling of stepping into a cinematic adventure where every turn reveals a new danger lurking within the jungles of Skull Island.
Recently we know the final animatronic was damaged and is covered up. There has been no timeline given as to when the repairs will be finished. That is definitely the biggest moment of the attraction.
Jurassic Park

The Jurassic Park land brings the vision of John Hammond’s dinosaur preserve to life, inviting guests into a lush tropical island where prehistoric creatures have been successfully brought back from extinction through advanced genetic engineering. Inspired by the iconic film, the land presents itself as a functioning wildlife park complete with visitor centers, research facilities, educational exhibits, and dinosaur encounters. However, much like the movies, the wonder of scientific achievement is balanced by the ever-present danger of humans attempting to control nature. Throughout the area, guests come face-to-face with towering dinosaurs, explore cutting-edge laboratories, and experience adventures that range from awe-inspiring to downright terrifying.

Camp Jurassic
Camp Jurassic is a sprawling, multi-level interactive playground in Jurassic Park that allows guests to explore the world of dinosaurs as young adventurers and researchers. Hidden within dense jungle foliage, the attraction features suspension bridges, cave systems, climbing nets, lookout towers, water cannons, and discovery areas that encourage exploration at every turn. Designed to feel like a remote expedition camp on Isla Nublar, Camp Jurassic immerses visitors in the wonder and mystery of a living dinosaur preserve while providing countless opportunities for hands-on adventure. The attraction reinforces the idea that Jurassic Park is more than just a place to observe dinosaurs, it’s a wilderness meant to be explored. For younger guests especially, Camp Jurassic offers the chance to step into the role of a dinosaur explorer, navigating rugged terrain and uncovering hidden corners of the island. While this is aimed at younger guests, if you have never been, you should definitely check this out. It’s an incredible place.
Pteranodon Flyers
Pteranodon Flyers is a gentle suspended glider attraction in Jurassic Park that allows guests to experience the park from a dinosaur’s-eye view. Designed as an aerial observation tour, riders board hanging vehicles themed to colorful pteranodons and soar above the lush landscape of the Jurassic Park area, including views of Camp Jurassic and the surrounding lagoon. Unlike the land’s more intense attractions, Pteranodon Flyers focuses on wonder and exploration, giving guests the feeling of gliding alongside prehistoric creatures through the skies of Isla Nublar. This attraction does however require a very complicated and restrictive process. Guests must be at least 36 inches (92 cm) tall to ride, and children under 48 inches (122 cm) must be accompanied by a supervising companion. The ride also has a maximum height of 56 inches (143 cm), meaning guests taller than 56 inches may only ride if they are accompanying a child who falls within the eligible height range. In other words, most adults cannot ride by themselves and must be accompanying a qualifying child.
Jurassic Park River Adventure
Jurassic Park River Adventure invites guests to take a scenic boat tour through John Hammond’s dream of a functioning dinosaur preserve. The journey begins peacefully as visitors glide past gentle herbivores and lush tropical landscapes, experiencing the wonder of seeing living dinosaurs up close. However, as in the original film, the park’s systems begin to fail, sending boats off course and into restricted areas inhabited by dangerous predators. What starts as a tranquil sightseeing excursion quickly becomes a desperate escape as velociraptors stalk the facility and a massive Tyrannosaurus rex closes in. The adventure culminates in a dramatic 85-foot plunge to safety, recreating the suspense, excitement, and central message of the Jurassic Park franchise: that nature can never be fully controlled.

Raptor Encounter
Raptor Encounter is an interactive experience that gives guests the thrilling opportunity to come face-to-face with a life-sized velociraptor. Framed as a live animal demonstration conducted by Jurassic Park handlers, the encounter showcases the intelligence, speed, and unpredictability of these prehistoric predators. As trainers attempt to keep the raptor under control, guests can observe its lifelike movements, reactions, and behaviors from just a few feet away, creating the illusion that a real dinosaur has been brought back to life. The experience captures one of the most memorable aspects of the Jurassic Park films: the awe and terror of meeting a velociraptor up close. Between the raptor’s realistic appearance, interactive performances, and opportunities for photos, Raptor Encounter offers one of the most immersive and memorable dinosaur experiences in the park.
Jurassic Park Discovery Center
Jurassic Park Discovery Center serves as the educational and scientific heart of the Jurassic Park land, modeled after the iconic Visitor Center from the original 1993 film. Designed as a functioning research and learning facility, the Discovery Center allows guests to explore the science behind Jurassic Park’s dinosaur cloning program through interactive exhibits, dinosaur facts, fossil displays, and hands-on experiences. Visitors can witness a dinosaur egg hatch, learn about genetic engineering, and study the prehistoric creatures that inhabit the island, all while surrounded by architecture and details that faithfully recreate one of the most memorable locations from the movie. More than just an exhibit space, the Discovery Center reinforces the wonder and ambition of John Hammond’s vision by immersing guests in the idea that they are touring a real dinosaur preserve where groundbreaking scientific discoveries have made the impossible a reality.

Jurassic World VelociCoaster
Jurassic World VelociCoaster is a high-speed launched roller coaster that places guests inside a new attraction created by the Jurassic World team, where visitors are offered the chance to experience the thrill of racing alongside a pack of living velociraptors. Under the supervision of Owen Grady and the park’s scientists, riders enter a paddock housing the infamous raptors Blue, Charlie, Delta, and Echo before boarding a state-of-the-art coaster train designed to showcase the animals’ speed and agility. What begins as a controlled demonstration quickly escalates into a heart-pounding chase as guests are launched through a series of high-speed maneuvers, near-miss encounters, inversions, and dramatic aerial elements that simulate outrunning the predators. Reaching speeds of up to 70 mph and featuring multiple launches, the coaster blends the wonder of Jurassic World with the ever-present danger of attempting to coexist with nature’s most formidable hunters, creating one of the most intense and immersive attractions in Universal’s Islands of Adventure. My daughter and I have a saying, Velocicoaster is life. The Mosasaurus roll is everything. MUST DO.

Pizza Predattoria
Pizza Predattoria is a quick-service themed as a modern dining venue operated by the fictional Jurassic World park. The restaurant blends contemporary theme park design with dinosaur-inspired touches, creating the feeling that guests are dining within a functioning prehistoric preserve. Its menu focuses on specialty pizzas, meatball dishes, salads, and family-friendly Italian-inspired offerings.
The Burger Digs
The Burger Digs is a quick-service restaurant themed as a dining facility operated by InGen within the park’s prehistoric wildlife preserve. Situated near the iconic Discovery Center, the restaurant is designed to feel like a functional guest amenity that visitors to a real Jurassic Park might encounter during their tour of Isla Nublar. The menu focuses on classic American favorites such as burgers, chicken sandwiches, fries, and salads.
The Watering Hole
The Watering Hole is a popular outdoor refreshment stand. Nestled among lush tropical foliage, the venue serves frozen beverages, specialty cocktails, beer, and other refreshing drinks, making it a favorite stop for guests looking to cool off after encountering dinosaurs or riding nearby attractions. Its name cleverly references the natural watering holes where prehistoric animals would gather.
The Watering Hole offers the exclusive Isla Nublar IPA, a Jurassic World-themed craft beer brewed specifically for Universal’s dinosaur-filled island.
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade transports guests directly into the snow-capped wizarding village made famous in the Harry Potter films and books, creating one of the most immersive themed environments ever built. Set adjacent to Hogwarts Castle, the land allows visitors to explore the magical shops, restaurants, and winding streets of Hogsmeade as though they have stepped into the Wizarding World itself. Guests can sip Butterbeer, browse locations such as Honeydukes and Ollivanders, encounter magical creatures, and experience attractions that place them alongside Harry, Ron, and Hermione on incredible adventures. Dominated by the towering presence of Hogwarts, the land captures the wonder, mystery, and excitement of discovering magic for the first time, making guests feel as though they are students arriving at the famed school of witchcraft and wizardry.
When this land opened it significantly changed the Orlando landscape. Universal was a struggling theme park in this period and without this property I don’t think Universal Orlando would have survived. This was a moment in time where Universal became a real contender and a serious competitor to The Walt Disney World resort.
Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey
Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey is the flagship attraction inside Hogwarts Castle, inviting guests to join Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger on an unforgettable adventure through the Wizarding World. The experience begins as visitors tour the corridors, classrooms, and iconic locations of Hogwarts, where they encounter familiar characters and magical artifacts from the films. Once aboard enchanted benches, guests soar through the skies above the castle and beyond, flying alongside Harry during a thrilling journey that includes Quidditch matches, encounters with dragons, close calls with Dementors, and face-to-face meetings with numerous magical creatures. Combining massive practical sets, advanced robotic ride technology, immersive storytelling, and intricate theming, the attraction makes riders feel as though they have become Hogwarts students experiencing the magic, danger, and excitement of the Harry Potter universe firsthand.
Game changer attraction in a game changer theme park land. Not to mention it would set a new standard for queue immersion. This didn’t just elevate Universal Orlando, it elevated the industry.
Flight of the Hippogriff
Flight of the Hippogriff is a family-friendly roller coaster that invites guests to participate in a Care of Magical Creatures lesson led by Rubeus Hagrid. As visitors make their way through Hagrid’s paddock, they learn the proper etiquette for approaching a hippogriff before boarding enchanted training flights designed to simulate riding one of these majestic magical creatures. The coaster gently climbs and swoops around the grounds near Hogwarts Castle, offering scenic views of Hogsmeade and the surrounding Wizarding World. While less intense than the area’s larger attractions, the experience captures the wonder and charm of the Harry Potter universe by allowing guests to experience a magical creature encounter straight out of the books and films, making it an ideal first coaster for young witches, wizards, and Muggles alike.

Frog Choir
The Frog Choir is a live musical performance featuring talented student singers from the four Hogwarts houses performing alongside their giant croaking frog companions. Inspired by the Frog Choir seen in the Harry Potter films, the show presents a selection of wizarding songs and school spirit performances while showcasing representatives from Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. Set against the backdrop of Hogwarts Castle, the performance helps bring everyday student life at Hogwarts to life.
Triwizard Spirit Rally
The Triwizard Spirit Rally is a live entertainment experience that celebrates the excitement and pageantry of the legendary Triwizard Tournament. Inspired by the events of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, the show features visiting students from Beauxbatons Academy of Magic and the Durmstrang Institute as they perform impressive displays of school pride, precision choreography, and magical flair.
Olivanders
Ollivanders recreates the iconic wand shop where witches and wizards receive one of the most important items of their magical journey. Guests enter the dusty, wand-filled shop and witness the famous experience in which “the wand chooses the wizard,” as an Ollivanders wandkeeper guides a selected visitor through a magical wand-matching ceremony filled with surprising effects and moments of wonder. Inspired by the scenes from the Harry Potter films, the attraction allows guests to experience a cherished wizarding tradition before exploring a vast collection of character wands, interactive wands, and unique wand designs.

Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure
Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure is a groundbreaking story coaster that invites guests to join Rubeus Hagrid on a journey through the Forbidden Forest to discover some of the Wizarding World’s most fascinating magical creatures. Riders board either Hagrid’s enchanted motorbike or the attached sidecar before setting off on a high-speed outdoor adventure that combines launches, twists, drops, and immersive storytelling. Along the way, guests encounter beloved creatures from the Harry Potter series, including Fluffy the three-headed dog, Cornish Pixies, Centaurs, Devil’s Snare, and a Blast-Ended Skrewt, while exploring areas of the forest rarely seen by ordinary Hogwarts students. The attraction blends thrilling coaster elements with detailed theming and character-driven storytelling, making riders feel as though they are participating in one of Hagrid’s famously unpredictable Care of Magical Creatures lessons.
Hogwarts Express – Hogsmeade Station

Hogwarts Express – Hogsmeade Station is both an attraction and a transportation experience that allows guests to travel between the two Wizarding World lands aboard the iconic Hogwarts Express. Beginning at the picturesque Hogsmeade Station beneath the shadow of Hogwarts Castle, visitors board the famous steam train just as Harry Potter and countless Hogwarts students do in the books and films. During the journey, guests settle into private compartments and witness magical scenes unfolding beyond the train windows, including familiar characters, creatures, and moments from the Wizarding World. The attraction serves as a seamless extension of the Harry Potter story, transforming a simple trip across Universal Orlando into one of the most immersive experiences in the Wizarding World.

Hog’s Head
The Hog’s Head is the rustic wizarding pub located inside the village of Hogsmeade, faithfully recreated from the Harry Potter books and films. Operated by Aberforth Dumbledore, the establishment serves as a quieter, more weathered counterpart to the bustling Three Broomsticks, offering guests a chance to relax with Butterbeer, pumpkin juice, specialty beverages, and a selection of beer, cider, and other drinks. The pub’s dimly lit interior is filled with aged furnishings, magical details, and the iconic hog’s head mounted above the bar, creating the feeling of stepping into an authentic gathering place for witches and wizards.
Hog’s Head Ale is a specially crafted Scottish-style ale created for The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. It features a malty, slightly sweet flavor profile with caramel notes and a smooth finish. Better yet, get yourself a Deathly Hallow’s or a triple layer as a way to get the bartenders to actually do it. A triple layer is the Hog’s Head Ale, Smithwick’s Cider and Guiness, layered and beautiful as well as a crisp taste and finish.
Three Broomsticks
The Three Broomsticks is the iconic wizarding inn and restaurant, one of the most recognizable gathering places in the Harry Potter universe. Operated by Madam Rosmerta, the rustic tavern welcomes witches, wizards, and visitors with its soaring timber-beamed ceilings, cozy fireplaces, and centuries-old atmosphere that feels lifted directly from the films. Guests can enjoy traditional British fare such as fish and chips, shepherd’s pie, rotisserie chicken, and the famous Butterbeer while surrounded by details that bring the Wizarding World to life.
The Lost Continent

There is no point telling you all about the Lost Continent, because other than a couple of places to eat, the rest is completely walled off and will be transformed into a new land which Universal has not officially announced yet. Pokemon is the name we’ve all heard now for a couple of years, anyway we expect all of the Lost Continent to be gone in early 2027.
Fire Eater’s Grill
Fire Eater’s Grill is a quick-service restaurant themed around the mythical and adventurous atmosphere of the land’s ancient civilizations. Inspired by the colorful marketplace feel of Sinbad’s village, the restaurant offers a menu that has traditionally featured Mediterranean-inspired fare alongside theme park favorites, making it a unique dining option within the park.
Mythos
Mythos Restaurant is the flagship full-service restaurant of Islands of Adventure. Built into a towering cavern of ancient rock, waterfalls, and mythical sculptures, Mythos is themed around a legendary place where the gods and heroes of ancient myths once gathered. According to the restaurant’s backstory, the cave walls tell stories of long-forgotten civilizations and epic adventures, creating an atmosphere that feels part Greek temple, part ancient sanctuary, and part fantasy realm. The menu reflects this global, mythological theme with a blend of Mediterranean, Asian, and American-inspired cuisine. If you haven’t been and are going before it closes in early 2027, you should definitely take the time to eat here. Make sure you enjoy a Potion of the gods if you partake in cocktails, its my favorite in all the resort.
Seuss Landing

Seuss Landing brings the imagination of Dr. Seuss to life in a fully immersive environment where virtually nothing is straight and every corner feels as though it has stepped off the pages of a beloved children’s book. The land combines characters, locations, and themes from classics such as The Cat in the Hat, Green Eggs and Ham, One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish, and Horton Hears a Who! into a colorful landscape of curving architecture, fantastical creatures, and playful storytelling.

The High in the Sky Seuss Trolley Train Ride!
The High in the Sky Seuss Trolley Train Ride! is a gentle elevated tour through the fantastical world of Seuss Landing, allowing guests to soar above the colorful landscape aboard Seussian trolley cars. The attraction takes riders on one of two narrated journeys that weave through landmarks, characters, and scenes from beloved books such as The Sneetches and How the Grinch Stole Christmas!. As the trolley glides overhead, guests enjoy unique views of Seuss Landing while listening to rhyming storytelling that captures the playful spirit and imagination of Dr. Seuss’s work.
Caro-Seuss-el

Caro-Seuss-el is a Seuss-inspired carousel that transforms the traditional merry-go-round into a fantastical ride filled with creatures straight from the imagination of Dr. Seuss. Instead of horses, guests ride colorful Seussian animals such as cow-fish, elephant-birds, and other fanciful creations brought to life from the pages of his stories and illustrations. As the carousel spins, many of the creatures feature unique movements that allow riders to control their motion, adding an extra layer of playful interaction.
Oh! The Stories You’ll Hear
Oh! The Stories You’ll Hear! is a live storytelling and character experience. Throughout the day, guests can gather to hear selections from classic Seuss stories brought to life through energetic narration, colorful performances, and appearances by familiar characters such as the Cat in the Hat, Sam I Am, and others from the Seuss universe. A warm, family-friendly opportunity for guests to experience the magic of Seuss storytelling in a way that feels as though the pages of a favorite childhood book have come to life.
Dr. Seuss Character Zone
Dr. Seuss Character Zone is a character meet-and-greet experience where guests can interact with many of his most beloved creations. Depending on the day, visitors may encounter favorites such as the Cat in the Hat, Sam I Am, Thing One and Thing Two, the Grinch, and other familiar faces from classic Seuss stories.
One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish

Wrap it up
Well that sure was a lot to take in but I did my best to share with you a virtual tour of a beautiful and well thought out theme park. I would like to share a parting thought. Next time you visit, while you are following that obvious foot path around the park, look towards the lagoon and take off on one of those paths that are less travelled. I think you will be surprised with some of things you will find, and of course some of these views are next to none.
